A Message from Our Volunteer Fire Department

 In Uncategorized

Greetings Members of Penn Estates,

Several firefighters reside within your community at Penn Estates. We are members of Fire Station 37 and operate out of the 5th Street Station, or the Arlington Station. Each Station is approximately 10 minutes from our homes.

As we respond to emergencies, we utilize blue and white flashing courtesy lights. When we engage our emergency lights, the hope is to get priority from you, the driver, to safely move to the side of the road, so that we may respond in a prompt manner, in the event of an emergency.

Our Fire Department members are all trained volunteers that are leaving work, their homes, or any other place they might be in the town, before they arrive at the Station.

We are asking that you extend us the courtesy of pulling over to the side of the road when you see us coming. It takes teamwork from everyone in the community to aid fire fighters and first responders in getting to a scene as safely and efficiently as possible.

During a drowning every second counts in saving a life. When a house is burning, or fire is spreading it can double in size every 30 seconds. So, time is very precious in response to any Emergency Personnel arriving to the scene. Every member of our Fire Department and any other first responders, which includes our security team we have in Penn Estates, needs those seconds to hopefully assure the best outcome.

If you would please pull over to the side of the road when you see us coming, we would appreciate it. Whoever we are going to help would also appreciate the fact that you are helping us, help them, in their time of extreme need.

If you are looking to make a positive difference in your community, consider coming down to either Station on Monday nights at 7pm to get information on how to become a volunteer. Thank you for taking the time to read this and helps us help someone else.

Thank you,

David Engbrecht
