We are fast approaching the summer season, and I would like to update the members on our 2024 planned projects and a few other items.Community Projects:Residents may learn more about these and other projects by attending board meetings, the budget work sessions or contacting me directly at PhyllisHaase@pepoa.org2024 Stormwater Management ImprovementThe improvement to the stormwater runoff concern at the Cranberry Gate will be entering into Phase Two of the project, which involves the installation of two swales adjacent to Penn Estates Drive outbound lane, concrete curbing, milling 2″ of pavement base course above the stormwater trench, and installing new pavement. The improvements are scheduled to begin April 8.New Recreational Amenities for 2024The new addition of a Picnic Grove adjacent to Lower Twin Lake is underway. Members will have access to a milled parking pad, a walkway to the grove, BBQ grills, and picnic tables. The outdoor stage at the Sports Complex will follow for “Concerts in the Park” and additional outdoor entertainment. We welcome members who would like to share their talent and express their art to contact my office to discuss performing this summer.Community Center and Office BuildingThe 30-year old patio doors at the back of the Community Center, which have allowed water to encroach in the area during heavy rains, have been replaced with windows, allowing more light to shine in the area. At the request of members, I am happy to announce that the new area will be an addition to the fitness center as a Yoga and Pilates studio.Generator Project:The permit to install a 130Kw generator, which will power the Recreation Center and Community Center during power outages and allow the association to offer warming and cooling stations for our members, has finally been approved.
