Important Announcement

 In General
 Dear Residents:

As phased reopening plans are developed, and many segments of Pennsylvania are beginning to reopen, Penn Estates remains in the red phase. On Friday, at 4:00 pm, Governor Wolf announced that Monroe County would move into the next appropriate phase of the reopening plan on May 29.

Management is carefully planning and preparing for the move into the yellow phase. As phased reopening plans are developed, we are ensuring that the measures we put in place will conform to the recommendation and safety measures set as per the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. These plans will include physical distancing practices at our outdoor recreational facilities, limited gatherings, continued cleaning and disinfecting practices, and sustained communication for community awareness. The fitness center will remain closed at this time.

Our Welcome Center will open to members and guests on May 29 for all owners and guest customer service needs. The Welcome Center may be reached by calling (570) 424-7047. All entering must wear a mask, and entry will be limited to two people at any one time.

Public Safety continues its active protective presence throughout the community, including monitoring amenities and roadways, responding to calls. While the department is reached via telephone at (570) 424-7042, we remind residents in case of an emergency to call 911.

The Code Enforcement Officer continues to perform resale certificate inspections, handling governing document violations.

The Administration Building will be open to the members starting June 1, Monday – Saturday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. All entering must wear a mask, and entry will be limited to four people at any one time. It is imperative that when leaving a voice mail, you speak slowly and provide your contact information to allow us to assist you with your needs. Please call (570) 421-4265 and dial the extension of the individual you are seeking to contact. For general questions or if you are not certain of the individual you need to speak to, please send an email to susanstrunk@pepoa.org or phyllishaase@pepoa.org

We understand that some members may be facing financial difficulties as a result of the COVID19 pandemic, and we urge you to contact lisagerhringer@pepoa.org or susanstrunk@pepoa.org to assist you with your financial needs.

Recreational in-person activities and events are canceled or postponed, at this time, while we continue to wait on guidance from the Governor. The Pool Drainage Project is close to completion. We are currently waiting on approval from Utilities Inc. to connect to the main sewer line. Once received, the contractor anticipates completion within one week. The Association desires to open the pools on Saturday, June 20, with restrictions, as previously announced, primarily including limited occupancy with reservations, social distancing, cleaning closures, and furniture not being provided. As we receive additional guidance and information, the date, as well as the plan, will be advertised.

The Board of Directors and the staff wish all residents and their family members a safe Memorial Day. Although this holiday may not be celebrated, as usual, we want to thank all our Veterans and their families. Be safe, and stay well!

Sincerely,

Phyllis Haase Community Manager
